It’s been a busy festive season in the postcard world. My postbox has been full since October with non-stop arrivals.

Hot Topics
Ramping up the festival season, The Tropical Postcard Club in Deerfield Beach, FL held the annual club Christmas Party on Dec 9th. The club is encouraged all to attend, and bring cards to share, sell trade or even donate. The club has a couple items of business on the agenda, but mostly fun conversations about postcards. They also have an active group on Facebook, continually sharing postcards from both club & non club members. Surely, they will share photos from the festivities on their Facebook page & group.
Community building
@mailseum from YouTube [also eBay, TikTok, & IG] has created a postcard Discord community. Folks selling vintage pre-owned postcards on eBay & other marketplace platforms are encouraged to join. The community is active with conversations between resellers, collectors, & even YouTube creators dedicated to sharing postcard updates.
Groups
Always looking for new groups of postcard collectors to talk about the artistry. Found this Facebook group that is dedicated to artist signed postcards. It’s a vibrant place to share not only postcards you own, but also postcards that are a part of the public domain. The group admins love to help identify details about the artwork, artist, time periods, and so much more. It’s been a great learning experience for me, & I’d love to meet new postcard enthusiasts.

I love coming across random postcards on socials or stories. Found this one on Mastodon. Who knew, and this creator consistently posts about wonderful aviation postcards. It’s a favorite topic of many for collections. ✈️

Shop of the Month
Long ago in my childhood, surfing was just the thing to dream about. These postcards brought back so many memories of growing up on the shores of California. Clark Little has the photographic eye of all those 70s surfer magazines we use to read. Beautiful postcards. I’ll be using these for postcrossing. The pictures include links to the website.
